Grantham Dems at Old Home Day - July 4
Grantham Recreational Fields. We hope that you will stop by. We will be inviting all of the candidates for Paul Hodes' congressional seat to stop by so we can introduce them to people. We would also love to have Matthew, Carla and Charlotte, our fearless leaders in the state house, drop in too. While you are there, take advantage of the Dunbar Free Library Cookie Walk as well as a bake sale fund raiser for Cancer Research which Grantham democrat Judy Kelley will be helping to run. And, take a chance on an environmentally responsible door prize that we will have at our booth, proceeds to go to the Grantham Crisis Fund. If you would like to help staff the table during the Old Home Day celebration, let us know granthamdems@gmail.com or call 863-5663.

Fund-Raising Dinners in 2010
Phyllis Katz, co-chair of the Grantham Dems' social committee, has offered her e-mail address to anyone who would want to e-mail their willingness to host a fund-raising dinner or lunch or brunch, etc. to be held this coming fall. Phyllis' address is profkatz1@comcast.net. We were thinking mid-September to early November.

Volunteer opportunites for Grantham Democrats
1. Support the Grantham Community Crisis Fund through regular financial contributions. A percentage of any fund-raising activity we have will go to support this much needed program.

2. Establish a volunteer program to:

    A. Provide rides to individual Grantham citizens in need of transportation to a medical appointment or an occasional shopping trip for such things as groceries or prescription drugs, or other errands etc.

    B. Offer home care with a family member for a few hours while a caregiver engages in similar activities or simply needs a respite.

Heddy and Ted Fantl, assisted by Ebba McArt, have agreed to coordinate this volunteer activity. They will contact relevant town officials, coordinate and organize the list of volunteers willing to help out and maintain continuity in the program. They will be the only ones who will contact you should you wish to help out. Town Officials will provide only their names as contacts. They, in turn, will draw from a list of volunteers so that no one Democratic volunteer is overly burdened. If you would like to sign up to volunteer for either of the two activities, or if you have any questions, please contact Heddy Fantl at hlfantl@gmail.com.
